The 8 Breweries to Hit on Your Next NYC Trip

Published on August 3, 2018 by teammvr

Some days call for an iced latte, others call for a glass of pinot, but the best of vacations demand an atmosphere of breweries and micro brews. There is just something about the ambient lighting and the cheerful atmosphere over a good pint.

However, when you are in a big city like NYC, it can be very difficult to find places like these amongst all of the hustle and bustle. Here at Tim & Reuben Vacation Rentals, we are here to try and help you find the perfect brewery for your next vacation, with our top 8 breweries in NYC list!

  1. Open Hammer Brewing Company

While it has only been open for about a year, we believe that there is beauty in newness. Not many people have heard about this spot, so it isn’t as packed as many of the other 38 breweries in the city. The beer list also regularly rotates so whenever we head to NYC, there is always something new to try.

  1. The Bronx Brewery

When we think of the Bronx, we think of a city full of heavy accents and a lot of character. That is exactly what makes this brewery so special. The taproom is gorgeous, but what is even better is the backyard that often has a DJ, food trucks, and a new flavor introduction.

  1. Grimm Artisanal Ales

Red Alert! New brewery in town! But this isn’t like any other new brewery; Lauren and Joe have been makes ales and brews for the past 5 years but have finally branched out and made their own establishment. Grimm Artisanal is the best summer hotspot to sip a cold one.

  1. Rockaway Brewing Co.

Like the beach? This brewery, located in Long Island City, is right on the water! Enjoy sunshine, surfing, and some delicious tacos, as you sip on their famous IPA.

  1. Brooklyn Brewery

A Brooklyn Lager is arguably the most widely recognized beer, coming out of the big apple. Sometimes hype and fame stand in the way of quality, however this is not the case for Brooklyn Brewery. They are simply, down right, good. Another perk of stopping at this brewery is the amount of history, the co-founders were among the first to bring craft beer to the area in the 80’s!

  1. Transmitter Brewing

Need a break from IPA’s? Sometimes we do too. At Transmitter they offer a wonderful 54 Classic French Saison with refreshing citrus and pepper notes. What’s even better is that this brewery is tucked under the Pulaski Bridge!

  1. Coney Island Brewing Company

The first thing that we love about this brewery is that it’s located at one of America’s most famous carnivals!  Additionally, their famous Coney Island Mermaid Pilsner, is enjoyed nationwide, available in many bars and bodegas around the country. But what better place to have a fresh pours than the brewery itself?

  1. Other Half Brewing Company

Ask any local and they will probably tell you this is the BEST brewery in the city, and we can’t say we disagree. Not only is the beer amazing, but they also have the most stylish bottles and cans. Stop by, down a pint, realize you forgot to grab a quality photo for the ‘Gram, grab another!

Next time you are in NYC and want to get away from the bar scene and have a nice relaxed evening, enjoying the company of friends and families, we highly encourage you to check these places out! Not only do they all have amazing beers, but also have a unique twist to how they operate their brewery.
